This means that the data will not be confined to offices. Security will be the key concern and there will be many projects undertaken for improving VPN capability and speed, ensuring data is encrypted in-flight and at-rest, and that systems accessing the environments are also encrypted.

Network monitoring will become increasingly inadequate and endpoint monitoring will be the key to a comprehensive security regardless of device or location.

Companies will need to ensure protection and have better control over off-premise devices accessing corporate environments.

The pandemic has already provided impetus to digital transformation and it is only going to gain momentum in the near future.
